Resumen
El Señor advierte que Jerusalén y Judá perderán a sus líderes y comodidades por su orgullo y maldad; seguirán el desorden social y el sufrimiento, especialmente para las hijas orgullosas de Sion.
El Señor, el Señor de los Ejércitos, está quitando de Jerusalén y de Judá su apoyo y sustento—todo el suministro de pan y todo el suministro de agua—
For behold, the Lord, the Lord of Hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem, and from Judah, the stay and the staff, the whole staff of bread, and the whole stay of water—
El hombre fuerte, el guerrero, el juez, el profeta, el sabio y el anciano;
The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient;
El capitán de cincuenta, el hombre honorable, el consejero, el artesano hábil y el orador elocuente.
The captain of fifty, and the honorable man, and the counselor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.
Haré que los niños sean sus líderes, y los pequeños los gobernarán.
And I will give children unto them to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.
La gente se oprimirá unos a otros, cada uno a su prójimo; los niños serán arrogantes con los ancianos, y los humildes faltarán al respeto a los honorables.
And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbor; the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honorable.
Cuando un hombre toma a su hermano de la casa de su padre y le dice: “Tú tienes ropa, así que sé nuestro líder, y no permitas que esta destrucción venga sobre nosotros”—
When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, and shall say: Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let not this ruin come under thy hand—
En ese momento jurará y dirá: “No seré sanador, porque no hay pan ni ropa en mi casa. No me pongas por gobernante del pueblo.”
In that day shall he swear, saying: I will not be a healer; for in my house there is neither bread nor clothing; make me not a ruler of the people.
Jerusalén está arruinada y Judá ha caído, porque sus palabras y acciones han sido en contra del Señor, provocando los ojos de su gloria.
For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen, because their tongues and their doings have been against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
La expresión de sus rostros da testimonio contra ellos y muestra que su pecado es como el de Sodoma, y no pueden ocultarlo. ¡Ay de sus almas, porque se han acarreado el mal a sí mismos!
The show of their countenance doth witness against them, and doth declare their sin to be even as Sodom, and they cannot hide it. Wo unto their souls, for they have rewarded evil unto themselves!
Diles a los justos que todo está bien para ellos, porque disfrutarán los frutos de sus acciones.
Say unto the righteous that it is well with them; for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
¡Ay de los malvados, porque perecerán; las consecuencias de sus acciones caerán sobre ellos!
Wo unto the wicked, for they shall perish; for the reward of their hands shall be upon them!
Mi pueblo es oprimido por niños, y las mujeres gobiernan sobre ellos. Mi pueblo, tus líderes te están haciendo extraviarte y están arruinando el camino que deberías seguir.
And my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they who lead thee cause thee to err and destroy the way of thy paths.
El Señor se levanta para defender y se pone de pie para juzgar al pueblo.
The Lord standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.
El Señor juzgará a los ancianos de su pueblo y a sus líderes, porque tú has consumido la viña y has llevado a tus casas lo que pertenece a los pobres.
The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people and the princes thereof; for ye have eaten up the vineyard and the spoil of the poor in your houses.
¿Qué están haciendo? Ustedes oprimen a mi pueblo y aplastan el rostro de los pobres, dice el Señor Dios de los Ejércitos.
What mean ye? Ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor, saith the Lord God of Hosts.
El Señor dice: Porque las hijas de Sion son orgullosas y andan con la cabeza en alto y ojos coquetos, caminando con pasos pequeños y delicados, y haciendo sonar adornos con sus pies—
Moreover, the Lord saith: Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched-forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet—
Así que el Señor herirá las cabezas de las hijas de Sion con llagas, y descubrirá sus partes ocultas.
Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will discover their secret parts.
En ese día, el Señor quitará la belleza de sus adornos tintineantes, diademas y joyas en forma de media luna.
In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments, and cauls, and round tires like the moon;
Las cadenas, los brazaletes y los pañuelos;
The chains and the bracelets, and the mufflers;
Los tocados, los adornos para las piernas, las cintas para la cabeza, los colgantes y los aretes;
The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the ear-rings;
Los anillos y las joyas para la nariz.
The rings, and nose jewels;
La ropa de moda, los mantos, los chales y los bolsos;
The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping-pins;
Los espejos, el lino fino, las capuchas y los velos.
The glasses, and the fine linen, and hoods, and the veils.
En vez de un aroma dulce, habrá mal olor; en vez de un cinturón, una cuerda; en vez de cabello bien arreglado, calvicie; en vez de ropa fina, se vestirán de cilicio; y en vez de hermosura, una marca.
And it shall come to pass, instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle, a rent; and instead of well set hair, baldness; and instead of a stomacher, a girding of sackcloth; burning instead of beauty.
Tus hombres caerán a espada, y tus valientes morirán en la guerra.
Thy men shall fall by the sword and thy mighty in the war.
Sus puertas se lamentarán y llorarán; ella quedará desolada y se sentará en el suelo.
And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she shall be desolate, and shall sit upon the ground.
