Resumen
Jesús enseña a no juzgar a los demás, a buscar la ayuda de Dios, a reconocer a los verdaderos discípulos por sus acciones y la importancia de fundamentar la vida en Sus enseñanzas.
Cuando Jesús terminó de hablar, se volvió de nuevo a la multitud y dijo: "De verdad te digo, no juzgues, para que no seas juzgado."
And now it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words he turned again to the multitude, and did open his mouth unto them again, saying: Verily, verily, I say unto you, Judge not, that ye be not judged.
La manera en que juzgas a los demás será la misma en que tú serás juzgado, y la medida que uses con otros se usará contigo.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
¿Por qué te fijas en la mota que está en el ojo de tu hermano, pero no prestas atención a la viga que está en tu propio ojo?
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
¿Cómo puedes decirle a tu hermano: "Déjame sacar la mota de tu ojo", cuando hay una viga en tu propio ojo?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother: Let me pull the mote out of thine eye—and behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Hipócrita, primero saca la viga de tu propio ojo, y entonces verás claramente para sacar la mota del ojo de tu hermano.
Thou hypocrite, first cast the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
No des lo que es santo a los perros, ni arrojes tus perlas delante de los cerdos, no sea que las pisoteen y luego se vuelvan contra ti y te ataquen.
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
Pide, y se te dará; busca, y encontrarás; llama, y se te abrirá.
Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Todo el que pide, recibe; el que busca, encuentra; y al que llama, se le abrirá.
For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.
¿Quién de ustedes, si su hijo le pide pan, le dará una piedra?
Or what man is there of you, who, if his son ask bread, will give him a stone?
¿O si le pide un pescado, le dará una serpiente?
Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Si ustedes, que son imperfectos, saben dar buenos regalos a sus hijos, ¿cuánto más su Padre que está en los cielos dará cosas buenas a quienes se las pidan?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Así que todo lo que quieras que los demás hagan por ti, hazlo tú también por ellos. Esto resume la ley y los profetas.
Therefore, all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them, for this is the law and the prophets.
Entra por la puerta estrecha, porque ancha es la puerta y espacioso el camino que lleva a la destrucción, y muchos son los que van por ahí.
Enter ye in at the strait gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, which leadeth to destruction, and many there be who go in thereat;
La puerta es estrecha y el camino es difícil que lleva a la vida, y pocos lo encuentran.
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Cuídate de los falsos profetas que vienen a ti disfrazados de ovejas inofensivas, pero por dentro son lobos feroces.
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Los reconocerás por sus acciones. ¿Acaso la gente recoge uvas de los espinos, o higos de los cardos?
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
De la misma manera, todo árbol bueno da buen fruto, pero un árbol corrupto da fruto malo.
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Un árbol bueno no puede dar frutos malos, ni un árbol corrupto puede dar frutos buenos.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Todo árbol que no da buen fruto es cortado y echado al fuego.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Así que los reconocerás por sus acciones.
Wherefore, by their fruits ye shall know them.
No todos los que me dicen: “Señor, Señor” entrarán en el reino de los cielos, sino solo los que hacen la voluntad de mi Padre que está en los cielos.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Muchos me dirán en aquel día: “Señor, Señor, ¿no profetizamos en tu nombre, y en tu nombre expulsamos demonios, y en tu nombre hicimos muchas obras maravillosas?”
Many will say to me in that day: Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name, and in thy name have cast out devils, and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Entonces les diré: “Nunca te conocí; apártate de mí, tú que haces lo malo.”
And then will I profess unto them: I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Así que cualquiera que escucha mis enseñanzas y las sigue es como un hombre sabio que construyó su casa sobre una roca—
Therefore, whoso heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock—
Cayó la lluvia, vinieron las inundaciones y soplaron los vientos, golpeando aquella casa, pero no se cayó porque estaba edificada sobre una roca.
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock.
Todo el que escucha mis enseñanzas y no las sigue será como un hombre insensato que construyó su casa sobre la arena—
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them not shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand—
La lluvia cayó, subieron las inundaciones, y los vientos soplaron y azotaron aquella casa; y se derrumbó, y grande fue su destrucción.
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it.
