Resumen
Jesús manda al pueblo estudiar diligentemente las palabras de Isaías y otros profetas, asegura que se registren las profecías faltantes, e instruye que enseñen lo que él ha explicado.
Ahora te digo que debes estudiar estas cosas. Te doy un mandamiento de escudriñar estas cosas con diligencia, porque las palabras de Isaías son grandiosas.
And now, behold, I say unto you, that ye ought to search these things. Yea, a commandment I give unto you that ye search these things diligently; for great are the words of Isaiah.
Él realmente habló acerca de todo lo relacionado con mi pueblo, que es de la casa de Israel; así que también debe hablar a los gentiles.
For surely he spake as touching all things concerning my people which are of the house of Israel; therefore it must needs be that he must speak also to the Gentiles.
Todo lo que él dijo ha sucedido y sucederá, tal como lo dijo.
And all things that he spake have been and shall be, even according to the words which he spake.
Así que pon atención a mis palabras; escribe las cosas que te he dicho, y en el momento y de la manera que el Padre quiera, serán dadas a los gentiles.
Therefore give heed to my words; write the things which I have told you; and according to the time and the will of the Father they shall go forth unto the Gentiles.
Cualquiera que escuche mis palabras, se arrepienta y se bautice será salvo. Estudia a los profetas, porque muchos de ellos testifican de estas cosas.
And whosoever will hearken unto my words and repenteth and is baptized, the same shall be saved. Search the prophets, for many there be that testify of these things.
Después que Jesús terminó de decir estas palabras y de explicar todas las escrituras que habían recibido, les dijo de nuevo: "Hay otras escrituras que quiero que escriban y que aún no han escrito."
And now it came to pass that when Jesus had said these words he said unto them again, after he had expounded all the scriptures unto them which they had received, he said unto them: Behold, other scriptures I would that ye should write, that ye have not.
Le dijo a Nefi: "Trae el registro que has llevado."
And it came to pass that he said unto Nephi: Bring forth the record which ye have kept.
Cuando Nefi trajo los anales y los puso delante de él, los miró y dijo:
And when Nephi had brought forth the records, and laid them before him, he cast his eyes upon them and said:
Te digo la verdad, yo mandé a mi siervo Samuel, el lamanita, que testificara a este pueblo que cuando el Padre glorificara su nombre en mí, muchos santos resucitarían de entre los muertos, se aparecerían a muchos y les ministrarían. Y él les dijo: “¿No fue así?”
Verily I say unto you, I commanded my servant Samuel, the Lamanite, that he should testify unto this people, that at the day that the Father should glorify his name in me that there were many saints who should arise from the dead, and should appear unto many, and should minister unto them. And he said unto them: Was it not so?
Sus discípulos le respondieron y dijeron: "Sí, Señor, Samuel profetizó conforme a tus palabras, y todas se cumplieron."
And his disciples answered him and said: Yea, Lord, Samuel did prophesy according to thy words, and they were all fulfilled.
Jesús les dijo: “¿Por qué no has escrito que muchos santos resucitaron y se aparecieron a muchas personas y les ministraron?”
And Jesus said unto them: How be it that ye have not written this thing, that many saints did arise and appear unto many and did minister unto them?
Nefi recordó que este acontecimiento no había sido escrito.
And it came to pass that Nephi remembered that this thing had not been written.
Jesús mandó que se escribiera, así que se registró tal como él lo indicó.
And it came to pass that Jesus commanded that it should be written; therefore it was written according as he commanded.
Después que Jesús les hubo explicado todas las escrituras que habían escrito, les mandó que enseñaran las cosas que él les había explicado.
And now it came to pass that when Jesus had expounded all the scriptures in one, which they had written, he commanded them that they should teach the things which he had expounded unto them.
