Resumen
Abinadí enseña que Dios mismo vendrá a la tierra como Padre y como Hijo para redimir a la humanidad, explica quiénes serán salvos en la primera resurrección y profetiza que la salvación será anunciada a todas las naciones.
Abinadí les dijo: "Quiero que entiendan que Dios mismo descenderá entre los hijos de los hombres y redimirá a su pueblo."
And now Abinadi said unto them: I would that ye should understand that God himself shall come down among the children of men, and shall redeem his people.
Porque vive en la carne, será llamado el Hijo de Dios, y al someter la carne a la voluntad del Padre, es tanto el Padre como el Hijo—
And because he dwelleth in flesh he shall be called the Son of God, and having subjected the flesh to the will of the Father, being the Father and the Son—
Él es el Padre porque fue concebido por el poder de Dios, y es el Hijo por causa de la carne, llegando así a ser tanto el Padre como el Hijo.
The Father, because he was conceived by the power of God; and the Son, because of the flesh; thus becoming the Father and Son—
Ellos son un solo Dios, el Padre Eterno del cielo y de la tierra.
And they are one God, yea, the very Eternal Father of heaven and of earth.
De esta manera, la carne se somete al Espíritu, o el Hijo al Padre, siendo un solo Dios. Él sufre tentaciones pero no cede a ellas, y permite que lo burlen, azoten, expulsen y rechacen su propio pueblo.
And thus the flesh becoming subject to the Spirit, or the Son to the Father, being one God, suffereth temptation, and yieldeth not to the temptation, but suffereth himself to be mocked, and scourged, and cast out, and disowned by his people.
Después de hacer muchos milagros poderosos entre el pueblo, será llevado, tal como dijo Isaías: como una oveja delante de sus trasquiladores enmudece, así él no abrió su boca.
And after all this, after working many mighty miracles among the children of men, he shall be led, yea, even as Isaiah said, as a sheep before the shearer is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.
De la misma manera, él será llevado, crucificado y muerto, su cuerpo quedando sujeto a la muerte, ya que la voluntad del Hijo se entrega completamente a la voluntad del Padre.
Yea, even so he shall be led, crucified, and slain, the flesh becoming subject even unto death, the will of the Son being swallowed up in the will of the Father.
De esta manera, Dios rompe las ataduras de la muerte, habiendo obtenido la victoria sobre la muerte, y da al Hijo el poder de interceder por los hijos de los hombres.
And thus God breaketh the bands of death, having gained the victory over death; giving the Son power to make intercession for the children of men—
Después de ascender al cielo, lleno de misericordia y compasión por todos, él se coloca entre ellos y la justicia. Ha roto las cadenas de la muerte, ha tomado sobre sí sus pecados y transgresiones, los ha redimido y ha satisfecho las demandas de la justicia.
Having ascended into heaven, having the bowels of mercy; being filled with compassion towards the children of men; standing betwixt them and justice; having broken the bands of death, taken upon himself their iniquity and their transgressions, having redeemed them, and satisfied the demands of justice.
Ahora te pregunto, ¿quién declarará su generación? Te digo que cuando su alma haya sido ofrecida por el pecado, verá a sus descendientes. Entonces, ¿qué dices tú? ¿Y quiénes serán sus descendientes?
And now I say unto you, who shall declare his generation? Behold, I say unto you, that when his soul has been made an offering for sin he shall see his seed. And now what say ye? And who shall be his seed?
Te digo que cualquiera que haya escuchado las palabras de los profetas—todos los santos profetas que han profetizado acerca de la venida del Señor—y haya prestado atención a sus palabras, haya creído que el Señor redimiría a su pueblo y haya esperado ese día para el perdón de sus pecados, estos son su descendencia, o herederos del reino de Dios.
Behold I say unto you, that whosoever has heard the words of the prophets, yea, all the holy prophets who have prophesied concerning the coming of the Lord—I say unto you, that all those who have hearkened unto their words, and believed that the Lord would redeem his people, and have looked forward to that day for a remission of their sins, I say unto you, that these are his seed, or they are heirs of the kingdom of God.
Estos son aquellos cuyos pecados él ha llevado; estos son por quienes murió, para redimirlos de sus transgresiones. Entonces, ¿no son ellos sus hijos?
For these are they whose sins he has borne; these are they for whom he has died, to redeem them from their transgressions. And now, are they not his seed?
¿Acaso no son los profetas—todos los que han hablado para profetizar y no han caído en pecado, es decir, todos los santos profetas desde el principio del mundo—su descendencia? Te digo que ellos son su descendencia.
Yea, and are not the prophets, every one that has opened his mouth to prophesy, that has not fallen into transgression, I mean all the holy prophets ever since the world began? I say unto you that they are his seed.
Estos son los que han proclamado la paz, que han traído buenas noticias, que han anunciado la salvación y que han dicho a Sion: “¡Tu Dios reina!”
And these are they who have published peace, who have brought good tidings of good, who have published salvation; and said unto Zion: Thy God reigneth!
¡Oh, cuán hermosos eran sus pies sobre las montañas!
And O how beautiful upon the mountains were their feet!
Y otra vez, ¡qué hermosos son sobre los montes los pies de los que siguen proclamando la paz!
And again, how beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those that are still publishing peace!
Y otra vez, ¡qué hermosos son sobre los montes los pies de los que proclamarán la paz desde ahora y para siempre!
And again, how beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those who shall hereafter publish peace, yea, from this time henceforth and forever!
También te digo, esto no es todo. ¡Cuán hermosos son sobre los montes los pies del que trae buenas nuevas, que establece la paz—aun el Señor, que ha redimido a su pueblo, que ha dado salvación a su pueblo!
And behold, I say unto you, this is not all. For O how beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that is the founder of peace, yea, even the Lord, who has redeemed his people; yea, him who has granted salvation unto his people;
Si no fuera por la redención que él ha hecho por su pueblo, la cual fue preparada desde la fundación del mundo, te digo que, sin ella, toda la humanidad habría perecido.
For were it not for the redemption which he hath made for his people, which was prepared from the foundation of the world, I say unto you, were it not for this, all mankind must have perished.
Las ataduras de la muerte serán rotas, y el Hijo reinará y tiene poder sobre los muertos; así Él realiza la resurrección de los muertos.
But behold, the bands of death shall be broken, and the Son reigneth, and hath power over the dead; therefore, he bringeth to pass the resurrection of the dead.
Habrá una resurrección, la primera resurrección—una resurrección de los que han vivido, de los que viven y de los que vivirán, hasta la resurrección de Cristo—porque así será llamado.
And there cometh a resurrection, even a first resurrection; yea, even a resurrection of those that have been, and who are, and who shall be, even until the resurrection of Christ—for so shall he be called.
La resurrección de todos los profetas, y de todos los que han creído en sus palabras o han guardado los mandamientos de Dios, ocurrirá en la primera resurrección; ellos son la primera resurrección.
And now, the resurrection of all the prophets, and all those that have believed in their words, or all those that have kept the commandments of God, shall come forth in the first resurrection; therefore, they are the first resurrection.
Son resucitados para vivir contigo, Dios, quien los ha redimido; tienen vida eterna por medio de Cristo, quien ha roto las cadenas de la muerte.
They are raised to dwell with God who has redeemed them; thus they have eternal life through Christ, who has broken the bands of death.
Estas son las personas que participan en la primera resurrección; son aquellos que murieron antes de que viniera Cristo, en ignorancia, sin que se les hubiera declarado la salvación. El Señor los restaura, y ellos tienen parte en la primera resurrección, o reciben la vida eterna, siendo redimidos por el Señor.
And these are those who have part in the first resurrection; and these are they that have died before Christ came, in their ignorance, not having salvation declared unto them. And thus the Lord bringeth about the restoration of these; and they have a part in the first resurrection, or have eternal life, being redeemed by the Lord.
Los niños pequeños también tienen vida eterna.
And little children also have eternal life.
Teme y tiembla ante Dios, porque debes temblar; el Señor no redime a los que se rebelan contra Él y mueren en sus pecados. Todos los que han muerto en sus pecados desde el principio del mundo—aquellos que se han rebelado voluntariamente contra Dios, que han conocido Sus mandamientos y se han negado a guardarlos—estos son los que no tienen parte en la primera resurrección.
But behold, and fear, and tremble before God, for ye ought to tremble; for the Lord redeemeth none such that rebel against him and die in their sins; yea, even all those that have perished in their sins ever since the world began, that have wilfully rebelled against God, that have known the commandments of God, and would not keep them; these are they that have no part in the first resurrection.
¿Entonces no deberías temblar? La salvación no llega a personas así, porque el Señor no los ha redimido, y no puede redimirlos. Él no puede negarse a sí mismo, ni puede negar la justicia cuando exige lo que le corresponde.
Therefore ought ye not to tremble? For salvation cometh to none such; for the Lord hath redeemed none such; yea, neither can the Lord redeem such; for he cannot deny himself; for he cannot deny justice when it has its claim.
Te digo que llegará el momento en que la salvación del Señor será anunciada a toda nación, familia, lengua y pueblo.
And now I say unto you that the time shall come that the salvation of the Lord shall be declared to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.
Señor, tus centinelas alzarán sus voces; juntos cantarán, porque verán con sus propios ojos cuando tú restaures a Sion.
Yea, Lord, thy watchmen shall lift up their voice; with the voice together shall they sing; for they shall see eye to eye, when the Lord shall bring again Zion.
¡Estalla de alegría y canta a una sola voz, ruinas de Jerusalén, porque el Señor ha consolado a su pueblo y ha redimido a Jerusalén!
Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem; for the Lord hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
El Señor ha revelado su santo poder a todas las naciones, y todos en la tierra verán la salvación de nuestro Dios.
The Lord hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
