Resumen

Abinadí enseña que todos están perdidos sin Cristo, pero gracias a Su resurrección y redención, todos resucitarán y serán juzgados según sus obras; la salvación viene solo por medio de Cristo.

Cuando Abinadí terminó de hablar, extendió su mano y dijo: Llegará el momento en que todos verán la salvación del Señor; cuando toda nación, familia, lengua y pueblo verán cara a cara y confesarán ante Dios que sus juicios son justos.

And now, it came to pass that after Abinadi had spoken these words he stretched forth his hand and said: The time shall come when all shall see the salvation of the Lord; when every nation, kindred, tongue, and people shall see eye to eye and shall confess before God that his judgments are just.

Entonces los malvados serán echados fuera, y tendrán motivo para aullar, llorar, lamentarse y crujir los dientes. Esto sucederá porque no quisieron escuchar la voz del Señor, así que el Señor no los redime.

And then shall the wicked be cast out, and they shall have cause to howl, and weep, and wail, and gnash their teeth; and this because they would not hearken unto the voice of the Lord; therefore the Lord redeemeth them not.

Son carnales y diabólicos, y el diablo tiene poder sobre ellos—aun esa serpiente antigua que engañó a nuestros primeros padres, causando su caída. Por esto, toda la humanidad llegó a ser carnal, sensual y diabólica, conociendo el mal del bien y haciéndose sujetos al diablo.

For they are carnal and devilish, and the devil has power over them; yea, even that old serpent that did beguile our first parents, which was the cause of their fall; which was the cause of all mankind becoming carnal, sensual, devilish, knowing evil from good, subjecting themselves to the devil.

Toda la humanidad estaba perdida, y habrían estado perdidos para siempre si Dios no hubiera redimido a su pueblo de su estado caído y perdido.

Thus all mankind were lost; and behold, they would have been endlessly lost were it not that God redeemed his people from their lost and fallen state.

Pero recuerda, cualquiera que siga en su naturaleza carnal y continúe pecando y rebelándose contra Dios permanece en un estado caído, y el diablo tiene poder completo sobre él. Es como si no se hubiera hecho redención alguna; esa persona es enemiga de Dios, y el diablo también es enemigo de Dios.

But remember that he that persists in his own carnal nature, and goes on in the ways of sin and rebellion against God, remaineth in his fallen state and the devil hath all power over him. Therefore, he is as though there was no redemption made, being an enemy to God; and also is the devil an enemy to God.

Si Cristo no hubiera venido al mundo—aunque hablo de cosas futuras como si ya hubieran sucedido—no podría haber habido redención.

And now if Christ had not come into the world, speaking of things to come as though they had already come, there could have been no redemption.

Si Cristo no hubiera resucitado de entre los muertos ni roto las ataduras de la muerte para que la tumba no tuviera victoria y la muerte no tuviera aguijón, no podría haber habido resurrección.

And if Christ had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory, and that death should have no sting, there could have been no resurrection.

Pero hay una resurrección, así que la tumba no tiene victoria, y el aguijón de la muerte es absorbido en Cristo.

But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ.

Él es la luz y la vida del mundo, una luz que es eterna y que nunca puede ser apagada, y también una vida que es infinita para que ya no haya más muerte.

He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death.

Este cuerpo mortal se volverá inmortal, y este cuerpo corruptible se volverá incorruptible, y todos serán llevados a presentarse ante el juicio de Dios, para ser juzgados por Él según sus obras, sean buenas o malas—

Even this mortal shall put on immortality, and this corruption shall put on incorruption, and shall be brought to stand before the bar of God, to be judged of him according to their works whether they be good or whether they be evil—

Si son buenos, serán resucitados a una vida y felicidad eternas; y si son malos, serán resucitados a una condenación eterna, siendo entregados al diablo, quien los ha sometido, lo cual es condenación.

If they be good, to the resurrection of endless life and happiness; and if they be evil, to the resurrection of endless damnation, being delivered up to the devil, who hath subjected them, which is damnation—

Siguieron sus propios deseos y voluntades egoístas, sin invocar al Señor mientras Sus brazos de misericordia estaban abiertos para ellos. Aunque fueron advertidos acerca de sus pecados, se negaron a apartarse de ellos. Se les mandó que se arrepintieran, pero no quisieron arrepentirse.

Having gone according to their own carnal wills and desires; having never called upon the Lord while the arms of mercy were extended towards them; for the arms of mercy were extended towards them, and they would not; they being warned of their iniquities and yet they would not depart from them; and they were commanded to repent and yet they would not repent.

¿No deberías temblar y arrepentirte de tus pecados, y recordar que solo puedes ser salvo en y por medio de Cristo?

And now, ought ye not to tremble and repent of your sins, and remember that only in and through Christ ye can be saved?

Así que, si enseñas la ley de Moisés, también enseña que es un símbolo de las cosas que han de venir—

Therefore, if ye teach the law of Moses, also teach that it is a shadow of those things which are to come—

Enséñales que la redención viene por medio de Cristo el Señor, quien es el Padre Eterno. Amén.
